Due to the lack of texture streaming, large packs with textures above 256x256 cause VRAM and RAM to bloat to unrealistically large sizes, sometimes 64GB+ of RAM being required to load the game without crashing. Some form of texture streaming or culling to allow texture packs to be ran on realistic hardware would help solve the problem.
