The bug
If the player joins the world outside spawn chunks, it will not be tracked until it leaves the subchunk it's in.
Side effects include:
- Players are able to place blocks in themselves
- Players cannot interact with pressure plates
Steps to reproduce
- Teleport outside of the spawn chunks
/tp 10008 80 10008
- Enable chunk borders (F3+G) for testing
- Leave and rejoin the world
- Remain in the subchunk you are in and try the following
- Place blocks where you are standing
→ Notice they can be placed in the player - Stand on a pressure plate
→ Notice it does not detect the player
- Place blocks where you are standing
- Leave the subchunk
→ Notice everything now works the way it should
