      Using an empty map (map) in creative mode can create an additional map with ID 0.

      How to reproduce

      1. Give yourself a filled map with ID 0 
        /give @s filled_map{map:0}
      2. Use an empty map
        → You received a new map and the amount of maps with ID 0 was increased
