When left alone squids beach themselves on the block next to the water killing themselves

What I expected to happen was...:
The squids would swim normally through the river

What actually happened was...:
All of the squids eventually beached themselves leaving ink sacs everywhere

1. Find a river with squids
2. Wait
3. See the squids dying
