When you power a piston with an observer that detects a block update rapidly, the piston will pop off into an item.

when you power a piston rapidly (i used a repeating command block to update an observer) the piston broke off like someone broke it and appeared as an item. attached is the circuitry i used to cause this. I wasn't able to reproduce this phenomenon, so I concluded that it is rare. The design of my farm is expandable, so theoretically if you expand it you will recreate the phenomenon again sooner. If I am able to recreate this overnight with I afk with a scaled up version of this farm in a dedicated test world, I will comment with an attached image with the result, though the item will probably have despawned. Please contact me if you have any more questions on twitter @KatevanDis472 or by email with the email I used for this account. Thanks.
