The bug

Mass-transferring items into one inventory to another (shift-double clicking) will only move items of the same type if they have the same damage / durability value.

It is probably intended that only items with the same NBT are moved (for instance to allow this feature to work properly for enchanted books), however it is an inconvenience for items that are equal apart from the damage value.

To reproduce

1. Place a chest
2. Give yourself multiple golden swords with different damage values

   /give @s minecraft:golden_sword{Damage:x}

3. Open the inventory of the chest
4. Pick up an item with your mouse cursor
5. Double click onto one of the swords while holding shift
   → Only that item is transferred
