World Generation acting strangely

When I jumped into the snapshot, I located a village in order to start a search for some of the new items put into the snapshot. When I teleported to the village, there were floating islands of dirt with a few crops trying to grow on them. The grew and generated as I was flying around the village in creative.  I flew to another village, it did not have the same problem.
