Threw ender pearl into end gateway. Expected to get transported to "outer islands" according to the Minecraft Wiki but actually get teleported to my original spawn point on the main island. Achievement for leaving the island registers despite never leaving the island.

Tried respawning the dragon and using another end gateway. New gate transports me to the same spot.
