When encased in any type of leaves (Above, below, and on all four sides of the player) (Also doesn't have to be just leaves, it can be a mixture of leaves and any other solid, not transparent block (I used gravel and stone)), rendering gets messed up. Only blocks that are within the same chunk as you, and are at or above the level of the block you are standing on, are visible.
