When a pillager fires at a villager, there is a possible chance that a pillager would finish killing a villager and would continue to fire upon the same location without a target for a while. I punched the pillager to try and reset him but he either kept on firing at the same spot, or looked for another random spot to continuously fire at. However, when the pillager finds a new target, it works again as normal. I've only encountered it once so far so I believe this problem to be rare. Sorry I don't have videos but I have pictures that show that happening.
