If an armor stand is partially inside of a block and has the Marker NBT tag enabled, any item in the head slot will act as if it is completely dark. This only happens with the Marker NBT tag, as without the tag, it will react correctly to the lighting, as shown in the screenshot. Screenshot taken using spectator mode to show armor stand placement, but issue does occur in creative, survival, and adventure modes as well.
