Description
There has been a very annoying bug in the game that has been around for a long time, but when you click "Delete World" after dying in Hardcore Mode, it returns you to the title screen and some quirky stuff happens:
-The world is still loaded and haunts you at the create new world section.
-Level still plays while client is still active. Things like sounds still play, like cows mooing and swimming where I died.
-Upon creating a new world straight after dying and then clicking "Delete World" the game will flicker between the day cycles between worlds. (Most effective if you died at night, and only confirmed in pre-7 and pre-8)
-LAN being really screwed up after a player dies and then clicks "Leave Server".
Also restarting the client resolves this.
-And few others I think.
Edit:
If testing for the day cycle flickering try turning on your LAN and then dying. I haven't done any deep testing myself but figured it was pretty interesting.
Recreation
Die in Hardcore Mode and try again.
Theory
I think the method that the "Delete World" method calls is the "Title Screen" method and doesn't go through any unloading, just displaying the GUI and is still playing the world even with the title screen active. Like opening a crating table, but it's the quit game option.
Note
As funny as I found watching the cows eat grass around my dead body, this is an old bug and the latest I've seen of anybody mentioning this report is release 1.8.3 so I though of renewing the ticket. As I write this cows moo in he background, and wolves hunt sheep.
