The bug
When you throw a Trident with strength on, it does not apply the strength bonus.
How to reproduce
- Run
/effect give @s minecraft:strength 10000 255 false - Spawn a wither
- Throw the trident at it, and see that it does not one-shot it
- Punch the Wither with nothing on your hand to see that you should one-shot it
