Water sources and water logged blocks that are not on top of blocks that are not permeable to water, i.e. cannot become waterlogged will not attempt to spread side ways. This includes air and flowing water and means that water sources floating in the air or suspended by such blocks will only attempt to flow down and not 1 block to the sides as well as in previous releases.
