When I entered my world, initially created in 1.12.2, I opened a furnace and took the cooked items from the last session, the one in 1.12.2, but I realized that the remainder did not continue its smelting process.
Moreover, when I inserted a material to be smelted, it did not even try to start, although I tried to insert it in the furnace by means of a recipe book, and by shift-click ... Please correct this bug otherwise I will not survive in my world.
however I am aware of the fact that with the new version (and therefore also with the snapshot) the world could have corrupted, but the rest works, like the stripped logs, the bubble columns and the new swimming method...

Having read the comment I was reminded of another situation regarding furnaces, in fact, at the top, I mentioned my test to use shift-click. The bug consists in the fact that clicking this combination does not directly go to the items in the slot (neither the coal nor the material to be cooked), but it is necessary to transport them or use the recipe book. I hope I have not made a report of a bug that maybe is done on purpose ...
