Loaded new world and entered creative mode using /gamemode creative and was able to play. Closed game and relaunched later. Loaded same world and during creative, pressed E for inventory and the game crashed. See Log attached. Only way around this is to use /gamemode and change to survival, then back into creative to keep from crashing.
