How to reproduce:

• Put item on a block that is on the ground.
• Stand on the ground next to the block.

Result: On the way towards the player's feet, the item goes through the block.

Note: This bug could also occur if MC-48577 was fixed, the way to reproduce it would just be different.

This might be working as intended or "won't fix", but I created a report so that there can be an official answer to if it is.
