I began connecting to a multiplayer server by mistake and hit cancel. Then I went into a single player world and started building for about a minute or so before I was suddenly in the same multiplayer server world that I was connecting in the same place I last logged off, except I immediately began falling through the map until I hit block level 4, taking no damage. Now I am not able to interact with any other blocks and ignoring all collisions except that of the block level 4 which I am standing on. At first I thought it copied the world and player data over to single player because it was not displaying things like the player list that you are able to bring up in multiplayer. However, then another player connected and I could see the server messages but she could not see any of mine. The game does not register her being here, as I cannot teleport directly to her but when I teleported to her coordinates I could see her moving, and I would just fall back to block level 4. Also, I could not run any commands that affected the server such as weather, or rather I could but they would not do anything.
When I exited and reconnected to the server, everything was normal and I was returned to my original position and everything was normal except that in the single player world that I originally connected to I was at the X and Z coordinates of the multiplayer world.
I was able to recreate this every time I repeated what I did on this version with Optifine installed as well as a clean version of 1.12.2.
