In the Minecraft Launcher I have specified a resolution of 1200 x 900 for each Minecraft version covered.
Release 1.12.2 works fine with this, but 17w43b crashes at start. With Resolution settings switched off 17w43b starts without problems.
This issue had already been reported as MC-121366, but had been closed, because the contributor could not deliver a crash report - actually there is none in this case.
