When you place a rail line of any type facing north or south of rail except the normal one (the one that turns in corners), and you place a rail of any type next to the rail at the end of the line, it will always connect to the rail that's right next to it, instead of the one it was connected to before. In case this is how it's supposed to work, it's really annoying, and I believe it should be changed.
