Placing down a torch,redstone torch, a lever, button or stone button on any given block, than placing an anvil on the same block the torch particle affects will still be present but when you break the anvil the torch is no where to be seen and the particle affects are gone. The torch, redstone torch, lever, stone button, button is not dropped as an item or anything it just vanishes without a trace.
