On Minecraft 1.12, there was an issue with the beds. The beds, when you went to where a bed was previously placed, aren't visible. You have to remove the bed(s), and then place them for them to show again. On the attachment below, I included a screenshot of what I was talking about. Where my had is is where there is an invisible bed, and there's one more to the left of it.
