Minecraft 1.11.2

While I have seen others post on this issue, a mod always shuts it down because they're using a modded client I have VANILLA Minecraft, I do NOT have a modded client in any way. When I go to launch options and create a profile for 1.7.2, the go into the resource packs option menu, the DEFAULT texture pack says "missing pack.mcmeta". Having worked in making my own resource packs before, I understand that pack.mcmeta is essential for Minecraft to know anything about the texturepack it's working with. As you can see from this image, I'm familiar with creating resource packs of my own, however I still cannot find a solution to this problem even after having DELETED MINECRAFT AND DOWNLOADED IT AGAIN FROM MINECRAFT.NET. So, in case I haven't made it crystal clear yet, I'm not hacking, I'm not modding the game, I just want the vanilla version of 1.7.2 to load up one simple world without crashing. How the heck you mods haven't run into this yourself is beyond me, but I want answers, not someone telling me my report is invalid for whatever reason you could possibly pull up. There IS no reason. This is DEFAULT Minecraft. Do your job. Sorry for being short but I'm fed up enough with this bug as it is, and having seen how you guys have treated other people who posted about the same bug I am not one bit impressed with your record. Prove me wrong.
