When parrots take flight (usually has to be at least 5 blocks), instead of flying in a specific direction, they tend to spin around in circles. It looks like they're trying to fly somewhere, but they keep spinning in circles instead within the same block. So they'll fly upwards 5 blocks or so, then stay within the same X/Z co-ordinate and spin in circles instead of fly away like it looks like they're trying to do.
