Powering a block

in minecraft redstone when you drag a repeater in to a block or drag a repeater out from an already powered block you can get a signal from it. so on one side of the block you put a repeater signal in and a normal redstone dust line out and get Power. You can't do that in minecraft 16w42a. This ruin litteraly ALL redstone contraptions. FIX THIS NOW on behalf of all redstoners
That wich it currently does is bud powering the redstone line on the other side. so none of my works work...
