The bug
Water creates a full shadow on blocks to the side of it, even though it does not take up the space of the full block. This issue is only present with brightness set to Moody, and it's easier to reproduce with Smooth Lighting turned off.
To reproduce
Recreate the gravel and water placement as shown in 2022-02-15_20.29.04.png with Smooth Lighting set to OFF and brightness set to Moody.
Observed behavior
The water's shadow is visible on the entire sides of the blocks at which it is flowing and does not take up the entire block.
Expected Behavior
The water would not cast a full block shadow when it does not take up an entire block of space.
