To players that works a lot with Redstones, there are some cases that will be hard do some mechanics that need a lot connections. Basically, your unique feature that connect things are Redstone wires.
Should be great if vanilla Minecraft to have some kind of a Repeater that allows configure a wireless system, transfering energy from a point to another. It'll reduce a lot lags and will allow better constructions with fewer space. More creative space and possibilities.
So, basically I suggests three kinds of new blocks (relateds):
- Wireless Emitter: that should emits energy to next;
- Wireless Receiver: that should receives energy from previous;
- Wireless Repeater: that should repeater energy for long distances;
We too should consider some kind of Channel to allow create a lot of this Wireless controllers to be responsive to different channels. Each controller kind should be configured to same channel to allow it communicates itself.
I thought in two ways to configure this channel:
- Numeric values: just right click and setup the Channel by input some value (eg. 12) in a prompt. It could allow setup from 0 to 64 channel;
- Redstone setup: just right click to open the controller "chest" with one slot only. Then you put redstones in a stack and this will be the channel number. Eg. if you put a stack with 12 redstones, then channel is 12.
Comparator should works normally. Basically, the wireless should transfer exactly same energy that was received. So if you receives 7 energy level, then it transfer 7 energy level on receives.
The distance of it should be limited to avoid long distances, I think that a radius of 13 (XYZ) should be great. If you need more distance, you should use a Wireless Repeater. This Repeater will expand this distance to 13 radius too, but note that it'll expand only half, because it'll be bidirectional.
Crafting: to craft this controllers, should be great to uses the "WIFI Signal" kind (image attached could help here).
