I was playing in snapshot 16w21a and went to explore a ravine I found. There was lava coming from the wall of the ravine and it had a very wrong texture. I then placed lava with a lava bucket to see if the bug worked on all lava or just naturally generated lava. The lava I placed was the same incorrect texture. Here's a screenshot:
