I tried accessing Realms on 1.9.2; the button was present, it wouldn't bring up the menu however, just played the clicking sound and stayed on the main menu.
I attempted to downgrade to 1.9.1, thinking 1.9.2 might not work with realms, for some reason. Launcher refused to start the game, gave me a "Deprecated Incremental CMS" error, had major hiccups downloading files, kept throwing "
[08:49:15 WARN]: Had local file but it was the wrong size..." warnings and would start a download, got maybe 1/2 of them successfully done and the other half timed out.
Tried downgrading further to 1.9.0, downloaded smoothly, launched fine, obviously didn't work with Realms.
Tried upgrading back to 1.9.2; still didn't open the realms menu.
Tried 1.9.1 again; still didn't download smoothly. At this point I checked the .minecraft directory, was missing major files [see attachment]. Not sure what stage this happened at, since I didn't check until after the several attempts at changing version.
I'm backing up the files that are present in case they are wanted or needed, but I'm nuking the directory with revouninstaller and trying a fresh installation.
