When using the touchscreen in handheld mode to switch items in your hotbar or to send messages to the chat (unsure about the pause and settings menu), the screen will freeze. Sometimes, it will revert back to normal after 15 seconds, but most of the time, you need to restart the game. 

I had this issue in realms (10 player realm to be specific), but haven't tested it in single-player worlds yet.
