The Elytra are an essential late game item in Minecraft and it's versatility is quite useful for many aspects of the game. However, on Pocket Edition, it's activation is EXTREMELY clunky. Compared to Java where when you jump the Elytra activates and opens it's wings and you begin gliding, the activation in PE is downright inconvenient. Having to press jump 3 times in order to activate the Elytra WHILE jumping off a block height of at least 5 is such a difficult thing to achieve especially in high intensity situations. On top of that, in order to fly you have to activate a firework once the wings open. On a small screen and with only two thumbs to work with, operating Elytra is nearly impractical except for leisurely use of flying around.
All I ask is that you make the PE Elytra operation similar to Java's where every jump opens the wings and when you activate a firework in your hand on the ground, you take off. It shouldn't mess with the auto jump which is essential to play in PE.
The reason I bring this up is because there have been several occasions where I've been hit or fallen off of a high ledge and not been able to achieve the sequence needed for flight before hitting the ground, falling in lava, or falling into the void and dying. Which doesn't make sense if you're wearing wings that has the sole purpose of making you glide.
