When I was in survival mode had enough honey to create a honey block, but when I created it, it disappeared. No honey bottle or honey block was left. I tried it again and same thing. I ended up using cheats to spawn in a block and see what happens. So it will create new honey blocks if there is at least one in your inventory but will create a block and immediately get rid of it if you dont have at least one honey block.
